We’ve got some video from our January 18th event at Palm Beach International Raceway of a 2015 Tesla Model S P85D going heads up against a 2015 Dodge Challenger Hellcat. The Tesla is powered by two electric motors with a combined output of 691 horsepower while the Hellcat has a 6.2L Supercharged HEMI V8 pumping out 707HP.
During the run the Tesla Model S P85D set a new world record (verified by NEDRA) for being the quickest and fastest production electric car in the world running 11.6 @ 114.6 MPH down the 1/4 mile with a very impressive 1.65 60′ time. 0-60 MPH came in last just 3.1 seconds during the run as per the VBOX.
The Hellcat also put on quite a show as you’ll see by the video below, keep in mind that this was the Hellcat driver’s first time at the track and first time attempting to launch the car. We’re also setup for a rematch in a couple weeks so check back soon for those results.
